Sunset Will Let You Live Out Your Cleaning Fantasies In May

You got your Windex in my military coup!

News

Sunset is the latest in a long line of eclectic games from developer Tale of Tales. The company is no stranger to forcing players into unique concepts and scenarios. Fans of the studio will recall experiences such as being asked to inhabit a peaceful forest as a deer their 2006 MMO The Endless Forest or being subjected to deep psychological horror in the fairy tale inspired horror title The Path.

In Sunset players will be cast in the role of Angela Burnes, an American citizen serving as a housekeeper in a fictional South American republic of Anchuria which is currently undergoing a..uh..political restructuring scenario. A military coup has rocked the country, and it just so happens that the apartment you spend an hour each week cleaning belongs to someone heavily involved in a local resistance faction.

So what does that mean for you? Well the promise is that it can mean as much as you want it to. Will you be a spy for the military? Will you aid your employer in the revolution? Will you get those damned hard water stains out of the shower? It’s your choice. The game can run anywhere from 90 minutes to six hours depending on the choices you make during play.

Don’t forget to dust around the propaganda.

Last year games like Valiant Hearts and This War of Mine explored war in video games like never before, Sunset is poised to take this philosophy one step further when it’s released on May 21st for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Sound intriguing? You can also see more of the game’s world at the Anchurian Air website.
