Persona 5 Delay - Enemy Slime

Persona 5 Delay

The Phantom Thief won't be stealing our hearts until 2016

News

I’ve been salivating after Persona 5 for awhile now, especially after watching some of the character and gameplay trailers they released earlier this year giving us some hints that this title would be all about burgling your way through the night with your trusty Personas at your side (in your mind!?). Sadly I will have to salivate a bit longer as Atlus announced in a press release this morning that the game shall be delayed for both America and Japan until 2016.

Part of the release reads:

The strengths of the Persona series are compelling characters, a moving, relatable story, and a borderline obsession with minutiae – elements which can’t be rushed or taken lightly. So while ATLUS realizes the frustration and disappointment that this must cause for the JRPG-loving public, please know that we are delaying the game in order to make sure the next iteration of the Persona series lives up to the expectations of fans.

Naturally just as news of the delay comes Atlus released a brand spankin’ new trailer for Persona 5 today to get us squirmin’ in our seats even more.

I do believe the Persona series is one of the few JRPG franchises left on the market that strives for constant quality, so I can be patient if they’re promising a better product and a better adventure for the Phantom Thief.

Atlus hasn’t provided a clear date for when the title will be released, but we’ll try and keep you informed as we find out more. Persona 5 will be exclusive to Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.
