Microsoft updated their store today to include peripherals for the upcoming Xbox One. Some likely expected the much maligned “Play and Charge” kit to vanish this generation, but Microsoft seems to be far too in love with the pile of money it generates.
So how much extra dough are you going to be shelling out on XB1 peripherals?
- A standard controller runs at $59.99
- A stand alone play and charge kit is $24.99
- The Xbox One Chat Headset (Which you’ll recall is no longer included with the console.) will run you $24.99
- You can also buy a controller and a charge kit as a bundle for $74.99 which, if you’re doing the math, will save you $9.99.
So there you have it. If you want a headset and a play and charge kit for your launch day console you can plan on dropping at least an extra $50.00.
UPDATE: Since the original posting of this article, Microsoft has revealed that a headset will be included in the box after all.
