StarMade, the block-based space sandbox game currently under development by a gentleman by the alias Schema, has passed muster as deemed by Steam users last week. The game has made it through the Greenlight approval process and will appear on Steam eventually.
We didn’t reach Schema for a reaction as he seems to have helpfully included said reaction in the latest StarMade launcher message, where he said the following:
“Can’t really say much more. I’m still in shock. Thank you all for voting and supporting the game! I’m gonna get myself a beer. Cheers!”
In StarMade, the emphasis is in building and flying ships around an infinite universe. Players can construct ships of seemingly limitless sizes, visit planets, and even build space stations and bases complete with automated turrets. It’s currently in “free for all” alpha and can be downloaded at the official site.
