In case you haven’t been following, Index Corp, the parent company of Atlus went on the auction block earlier this year after filing for bankruptcy. Many wondered what this would mean for the maker of such franchises as Shin Megami Tensei, Persona (hold that hatemail button… Persona technically isn’t Megaten) and Catherine.

Sega Sammy Holdings Corp, the parent company of Sega, has purchased Index Corp. Apparently Index Corp drew interest from 20 potential bidders, making Sega the big winner at a bid of 14 million yen. Sega Dream Corporation is the subsidiary being established to fully acquire Index Corp.

What does this mean for Atlus? Likely not a whole lot, just that they get to keep developing games as usual. But maybe now Atlus will take a look at my Teddy x Tails slash fiction and make it a reality.
