Free Wii Fit U Trial For Wii Fit Owners - Enemy Slime

News

In Nintendo’s eternal quest to help you with your weight, they’ve made a pretty well-intentioned offer: Anyone who owns a Wii Balance Board can get a full download of Wii Fit U that is fully featured and lasts for a whole month on November 1st. That’s a pretty big demo.

Said Reggie Fils-Aime:

Wii Fit U is all about ‘fun fitness’ for everyone in the family. With this special offer, Nintendo is making it easier than ever for families to get active and stay active, making now the perfect time to upgrade to Wii U. This is another example of the kind of value and variety that only Nintendo can offer.

Wii Fit U apparently has almost 77 activities, far more than previous installments. Coinciding with the release of Wii Fit U, a Fit Meter will be available for 20 bucks. It seems like a pretty powerful little pedometer that measures the intensity of the steps you take as well as accounting for upward or downward movement, giving you more credit for walking up stairs and less for walking down stairs. All this stuff is wirelessly sent to your Wii U so that the statistics can be added to what you do while Wii Fitting it up.

Nintendo’s hoping that by offering this secondary peripheral that you can take anywhere, you’ll want to keep active even when you’re not playing Wii Fit U.

If you don’t want to adopt this “early access” trial, you can purchase the game on December 13th.

Personally I didn’t “feel the burn” from most of the activities in Wii Fit aside from the unfun repetitive stuff like running in place, but I’m looking forward to how Nintendo intends to improve on the series.
