Overkill Software wants to celebrate 2 years of heisting goodness, and this weekend they’ve given PayDay 2 owners the party favors to get the roof poppin’.
This all started 3 days ago with an announcement page that the 3 days leading up to this weekend would unveil surprise after surprise. Here’s a breakdown of what was revealed on each day:
Day 1: A vlog competition was pitched asking players to voice their favorite anecdotes playing PayDay: The Heist. Remember the time you got touched inappropriately by a Bulldozer who had a fondness for defending the valve to the water hose before being gunned down in the street? Me too. Players send their vlog to Overkill and if theirs is selected, they’ll win some PayDay swag including a t-shirt, free deluxe edition Steam keys, and a poster. The PayDay 2 soundtrack was also revealed and is for sale for $5.
Day 2: Perhaps my favorite reveal, the “Very Angry Bear” mask. It’s a bear mask. Bears are pretty cool. Oh, and there’s a demo now for PayDay 2, so if you’re interested but haven’t committed, now’s the best time to see if you like it.
Day 3: Offshore PayDays have been added as a feature in testing. In essence, you can spend your in-game Offshore Account cash to gamble for instant card drops. It’s uncertain yet whether this feature will remain after the weekend or if they’ll be taking it down, tweaking it, and re-releasing later, but after playing with it for a bit I enjoyed it and even got an infamous rarity mask.
And with Day 3’s announcement, it’s also worth mentioning that for the remainder of this weekend PayDay 2 is 20% off and all experience gained is being increased by 30%.
I guess the party’s over when the weekend ends, but hey, you’ll still have a sweet bear mask.
