If you’ve been holding off on buying the new Final Fantasy MMO, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn so that you can play it on your shiny new Playstation 4’s then good news! Square-Enix announced the game’s U.S. release date.
A Realm Reborn should be released on April 14th for the console, with pre-orders on the standard and collectors edition on the publisher’s website, as well as pre-orders available for the digital edition off the Playstation Store. The game will be asking for a monthly subscription fee. The PS3 and PC copies are available now.
Pre-Ordering now will give players early access to the game on April 11th, with the PS4 beta taking place on February 22nd which should be open to anyone who owns the console. The physical collector’s edition is offering such goodies as a music CD, Art cards, added account security, an artbook, and box art by the legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitako Amano. Both collector’s editions offer a cosmetic item and special mounts.
Now if you’ve already purchased the previous collector’s editions and feel left out of the new shiny digital stuff, no worries, as Square-Enix promises they’ll send the new goodies your account’s way. If you want a glimpse at some of the said shinies DualShockers has more on their website.
April looks to be a good month for MMOs, as Elder Scrolls Online will be launching for PC and Mac on April 4th, with PS4 and Xbox One editions believed to drop around the same time.
