Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Heads To The US

The popular (and frequently neglected in the US) series will be arriving stateside next year.

3DS

American based Monster Hunter fans don’t usually get a lot to be happy about. The series is huge in Japan but has never made giant waves stateside and because of that Capcom usually isn’t in much of a hurry to get the games sent across the pond, sometimes even going so far as to not release the games in the US at all.

Today Capcom announced Monster Hunter 4G which will relate to 4 in a manner similar to how 3 Ultimate complemented Tri. Here is the trailer for it:

Jealous? Well if you were worried about Monster Hunter 4, worry no more, 4G is being localized as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and will be sliding into your hot little hands on the 3DS early next year. Yeah, it’s over a year after the original 4 got its release, but it’s better than getting kicked in the nuts.

Notable new features to 4G/Ultimate include more vertical navigation (characters are shown climbing and shimmying about the world),  and some much desired online multiplayer which was noticably absent from 3 Ultimate unless you connected through a Wii U.

There’s no concrete date yet so for now just draw a big X on the 1st quarter of 2015.
