Hey, remember when Resident Evil games were good? Capcom does, and that’s why they’re re-releasing Resident Evil 4 once more. No longer content to be relegated to filthy standard definition this new form of RE4 will be casting off its laughable screen resolution as it gently slides its way (once more) onto the ultimate gaming platform, the PC.
The game actually looks like it has upscaled quite nicely and Capcom promises that it will run at a brisk 60 FPS (a first for the game). Better late than never, if you’re a die-hard PC gamer who somehow missed RE4 during its three other re-releases then this is your chance to play one of the best games in the series.
Normally when Resident Evil 4 gets ported over to a new platform Capcom packs some new content in there to go with it. This time there doesn’t seem to be anything new aside from graphical updates but the game does include all of the extra content from the PS2 and Wii versions as well as the “Separate Ways” epilogue.
The game is launching on Steam and promises to have all the standard trappings, achievements, native controller support, etc. The whole package will be available for a paltry $19.99 on February 28th.
