With the announcement of World of Warcraft’s newest expansion Warlords of Draenor there were talks of new animations and updated re-designs of the game’s core eight playable races, with touch ups on the magic addicts anonymous Blood Elves and the interdimensional, sorta space-farring sorta demon folk Draenei to follow soon after. This is all being done with the idea of bringing the older models more in line with the Azerothian races of the latter expansions, and to try and make you forget the game is nearly a decade old.
Today Blizzard gives us a sneak peak at their redone skin and animation for the Tauren race. Technically this is the second one they’re “revealing” (the first was for the Draenei, though that was an April Fools joke, and a fairly good one if you ask me).
It’s a pretty nice job if you ask me, giving the Tauren a smoother, improved look while not going too far into Disney territory like some of the later races we’ve seen (Worgen, Pandaren, looking at you.) I’m curious as to what you think, so drop me a line jay@enemyslime.com or leave a comment. You can see all the videos of the new Tauren in action and Blizzard’s developer blog here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/13607366
