In a blog post on Xbox Wire, Bonnie Ross, general manager at 343 Industries, announced a new Halo game coming for the Xbox One with an expected release during the Fall of 2015. The new Halo game, she announced, will be an experience built from the ground up for the Xbox One, designed to make use of the architecture of the Microsoft Console to deliver the first true next gen experience they feel their fans deserve.
There were not many details about Halo 5: Guardians during the blog post, but Ross did promise more details will be unveiled during their E3 media briefing on June 9th. While this news is not unexpected, we haven’t seen or heard much of Halo since Microsoft teased it at last year’s E3.
The blog post also seems to confirm the previously announced Halo TV series, giving the time frame for it to air during fall of 2015 as well. It will be interesting to see if there are plans to integrate both products as a multi-media narrative, of if the game and series will remain independent of each other.
