Grim Fandango always came highly recommended to me. But alas the notoriously good adventure game is also notoriously bad at running on modern day PCs. Every few years I would attempt to load the game up with a wide array of operating systems and patches but never with enough luck to make it through an entire playthrough.
That’s why I was quite happy with the somewhat odd news at Sony’s E3 press conference this year saying that the game would be re-releasing in HD for the Vita and PS4.
Well if you were feeling down because you wanted to replay (or maybe just play) the game on a non Sony platform you might just be in luck. Today Double Fine took to Twitter to announce that the game’s re-release would also be heading to PC, Macintosh, and Linux systems. There’s still no word on when the game will actually land but purists will surely be happy to hear that it will be returning to its original platform of choice.
Reap your heart out! We’re pleased to announce Grim Fandango will also be available on PC, Mac, and Linux alongside PlayStation 4 and Vita!

Come now, let us all rejoice and be merry. Unless you just have an Xbox / Wii U…
