Those great AAA exclusive news breakers Game Informer just announced that Batman: Arkham Knight will be their April 2014 cover story. While it’s unsurprising Game Informer has the inside deets since they broke the last several Batman games, it is exciting to hear of the “official wrap up” to the series. Earlier today a leak on UK retailer GAME (since removed) revealed “Batman: Arkham Knight, the final game in the Arkham series, and it’ll be out this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.” with a similar listing on GameStop also reinforcing the leak.
Though GAME pulled down its listing, Warner Brothers made it official when Game Informer announced their details. So what’s in store for Arkham Knight? Rocksteady, the developer behind the first two Arkham games is back at the helm for this title, something Enemy Slime predicted based on the fact a different developer, Warner Brothers Games Montreal, was responsible for Arkham Origins.
The announcement trailer reveals some of the infamous yet lovable bat rogues we’ll be up against in the new game, including the return of Harley Quinn, Two Face, a particularly bad ass looking Penguin (something I never thought I’d see in my lifetime), and Rocksteady informs us the return of Scarecrow.
The main draw of both the announcement trailer and the Game Informer cover seems to be Batman’s new tricked out batmobile. Rocksteady is promising Arkham Knight’s open world will be even bigger than Arkham City, with wider streets to make full use of the batmobile.
