Developer Platinum Games, whom you may remember from such titles as Metal Gear: Revengeance and Bayonetta 2, has announced it is currently developing an Avatar:Legend of Korra game. The title will be a third person action game with a story written by Tim Hendrick. The game will take place between the second and third seasons of the TV show and will have Korra facing off against common enemies from the source material, as well as participating in pro-bending matches.
If that is not enough, Webfoot Technology has also announced that it will release a turn-based strategy game for the 3DS later this year. Of course, a strategy game will have a slower pace than an action one, but it sounds like it will be a better fit for a handheld.
Platinum Games is well known for good, fun, fast paced action games. The focus on martial arts that the Avatar world has is more or less ideal for the type of game they make. I will be very interested to see what the finished product looks like. You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the title, the game is set to be released this fall for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3.
