Xbox One is back on the block and here to represent, ya heard.

News

In an event Microsoft decided would be closed to the public, they made a few announcements to try and get themselves back on par with Sony. Here is the rundown as pieced together from a few other reports:

Xbox One’s Launch Lineup was announced, including Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA14, Killer Instinct, and Ryse: Son of Rome. You can take at the full launch list here: http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/gamescom-launch

In a move to get in good with the European crowd, Microsoft is bribing… that is bundling a free digital copy of FIFA14 with Xbox One Pre-Orders.

Fable Legends, Sims 4 and Fighter Within were all announced with fancy new trailers that were careful not to show any gameplay. You can check them out for yourselves here:

Peggle 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Cobalt will all also be coming to Xbox One.

Perhaps the most interesting and most exciting of the news however is Microsoft’s policy announcement on indie developers with their details on Independent Developers @Xbox, or ID@Xbox. A program to encourage the development of indie titles on Xbox One, it’s offering up two free development kits to their registered and accepted developers. Applications are here, and it’s open today: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/Developers/id

Addendum: It seems Sims 4 does have a gameplay trailer, you can view it here if you’re into that kind of thing.
