If you thought the massive beta from a few weeks ago was a positive indicator for how the Titanfall launch was going to go then that just goes to show what a foolish child you really are.
Although reportedly Respawn’s servers on the Microsoft Azure network were up to the task it was Xbox Live itself that wasn’t quite ready to meet its end of the bargain and sign users in.
As of 10 PM eastern time Microsoft indicated via the Xbox Live server status page that all the problems on their end should be resolved and you would be able to sign in again:
Were you experiencing issues signing in to Xbox Live? We are very happy to say that our team has fixed the problem and the Live service is ready and waiting. If you are experiencing any lingering issues, try a cold reboot of your Xbox by powering down, unplugging, waiting 10 seconds, plugging back in and powering back on. Thanks for all your patience while our team was working. Have fun!
But despite what you may believe life is not all about Titanfall. Some folks out there who strode past giant robots in favor of a good old fashioned ass whupping via Dark Souls 2 today haven’t had much luck with their online play either.
Earlier in the day Namco Bandai reported some matchmaking issues on PSN which all seem to have been cleared up now according to their server status page. Xbox users aren’t so lucky, a lot of people are reporting an error upon starting up the game that simply says:
“The Dark Souls II service is not available. Please try again later.”
But as is frequently the case “trying again later” hasn’t helped. Namco has since sent out a tweet saying they believe the issues lie with Microsoft and not on their end. You can keep an eye on Dark Souls’ server status by clicking here.
We’re working with Microsoft to investigate some issues with the Xbox 360 Dark Souls II servers. Thanks for your patience!

So have you learned your lesson about buying games with heavily integrated online requirements on launch day yet? Yeah, me neither.
