When it was originally announced back in March it was presumed that Far Cry 4 would be launching in early 2015 but today Ubisoft announced that the game’s release window has moved up quite a bit.
The game is said to take place in a fictional location known as Kyrat. The game will be abandoning Far Cry 3’s jungle landscapes in favor of something more in tune with the Himalayas. We still don’t know the name of the flamboyantly evil looking “self-appointed king” adorning the box’s cover art but Ubisoft promises to dish out more info in a few weeks at E3.
The “elephant riding” suggested back in March doesn’t receive any mention in the blog post but we do get an update on the character “Hurk” who is returning from the last game. Pre-ordering (or likely just buying the game on release day) will net you a limited edition which will contain some bonus missions based around the lovable scamp and allow you to wield his comically large harpoon gun.
So when can you get your hands on the game? Far Cry 4 will be releasing on November 18th in the US and November 20th in Europe. The game will be available on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, as well as the 360 and PS3.
