Rockstar has dated the previously announced High Life update for next Tuesday, May 13th. Before you ask, no, this is not the update that will bring the much anticipated heists to the the game. Instead, this update adds new properties, as well as boosting the total number of properties that can simultaneously be owned to two . It adds new vehicles, new weapons, new clothes, new car horns, and a new “no contact” race mode.
Perhaps the most interesting addition is the “mental health” stat, which would help you determine how aggressive other players on the map are. Rockstar claims that this is so you will know which players to avoid, but in an environment like GTA Online, I am sure these will be used by said players to pick soft targets to grief.
This clearly seems like a push to give players more incentive to buy Shark Cards. After all there are plenty of things to buy already in the game, but adding a second property with a second garage means players can now buy more cars to fill them. Hopefully the heists will be announced soon and the rewards for them will make these items more attainable for players who do not want to participate in the micro-transaction economy.
